Low Tide, Flowerpot Rocks, New Brunswick, Canada

In the Bay of Fundy, one of Canada’s Seven Natural Wonders, a billion tons of water that ebb and flow with the tides have sculpted red standstone.

Here, at Hopewell Rocks at low tide, rock sculpted into “flowerpots” upon which pine grows emerge from the sea floor.

Girls clamber about on the rocks and in the mud where clams hide.

While boys set off eastward across the mud toward Nova Scotia, determined to arrive before the tsunami of water at high tide flows in.
